Connect your Sony camera via USB-C
Set USB Connection to PC Remote, then plug in USB-C. Your iPhone keeps its internet connection.

What you need
- FrameFast installed on your iPhone
- A charged camera from the list above
- File format set to JPEG or RAW + JPEG — FrameFast does not transfer RAW-only files
- A USB-C to USB-C cable
- iPhone 15 or later (USB-C port)
Setup steps
These cameras require you to change a setting before connecting the cable.

Set USB mode to PC Remote
On the cameraThe menu path depends on your model:
- A7 III / A7R III: MENU → Setup → USB Connection → select PC Remote
- A7R IV: MENU → Network → PC Remote Function → PC Remote Cnct Method → select USB. Then set PC Remote to On.

Connect the USB-C cable
CableTurn the camera on, then connect a USB-C to USB-C cable between the camera and your iPhone.
The camera enters PC Remote mode automatically — no popup appears.

Open FrameFast and select Sony
On your iPhone3.1 Open FrameFast → Capture tab → tap + → select Sony → select USB Live Capture.
3.2 FrameFast detects your camera automatically. Tap to connect.

Pick an event and upload mode
On your iPhoneSelect the event you’re shooting for, then choose an upload mode:
- Real-time upload — photos upload to the cloud as you shoot. Requires internet.
- Shoot offline — photos are saved locally and uploaded later when you’re back online.
Start shooting
On the cameraEvery photo you take on the camera now appears in FrameFast and uploads to your event. Your iPhone keeps its internet connection while connected via USB.
Troubleshooting
FrameFast doesn’t detect the camera
- Unplug and re-plug the USB-C cable.
- Make sure the camera is turned on before connecting the cable.
- Verify USB Connection is set to PC Remote (not "Auto" or "Mass Storage").
- Try a different USB-C cable — some charge-only cables don't support data.
iPhone battery draining fast
- Go to MENU → Setup → USB Power Supply → set to Off. This prevents the camera from drawing power through the USB cable.
