Connect your Sony camera via USB-C
Plug in USB-C and select Remote Shooting on the camera screen. Your iPhone keeps its internet connection.

What you need
- FrameFast installed on your iPhone
- A charged camera from the list above
- File format set to JPEG or RAW + JPEG — FrameFast does not transfer RAW-only files
- A USB-C to USB-C cable
- iPhone 15 or later (USB-C port)

Connect the USB-C cable
CableTurn the camera on, then connect a USB-C to USB-C cable between the camera and your iPhone.

Select Remote Shooting on the camera
On the cameraThe camera displays a USB Connection Mode popup. Select Remote Shooting.
If the camera connects automatically without showing the popup, your USB Connection Mode is already set to Remote Shooting — no action needed.

Open FrameFast and select Sony
On your iPhoneOpen FrameFast → Capture tab → tap + → select Sony → select USB Live Capture.
FrameFast detects your camera automatically. Tap to connect.

Pick an event and upload mode
On your iPhoneSelect the event you’re shooting for, then choose an upload mode:
- Real-time upload — photos upload to the cloud as you shoot. Requires internet.
- Shoot offline — photos are saved locally and uploaded later when you’re back online.
Start shooting
On the cameraEvery photo you take on the camera now appears in FrameFast and uploads to your event. Your iPhone keeps its internet connection while connected via USB.
Troubleshooting
FrameFast doesn’t detect the camera
- Unplug and re-plug the USB-C cable.
- Make sure the camera is turned on before connecting the cable.
- When the popup appears, make sure you select Remote Shooting, not "Image Transfer (MTP)" or "Live Stream".
- Try a different USB-C cable — some charge-only cables don't support data.
iPhone battery draining fast
- Go to MENU → Setup → USB Power Supply → set to Off. This prevents the camera from drawing power through the USB cable.
