6.1 Open FrameFast → Capture tab → tap + → select Sony → select Personal Hotspot.

6.2 FrameFast scans the hotspot network and finds your camera. Tap to connect.

  7. 7

Pick an event and upload mode

    On your iPhone

Select the event you’re shooting for, then choose an upload mode:

    • Real-time upload — photos upload to the cloud as you shoot. Requires internet.
    • Shoot offline — photos are saved locally and uploaded later when you’re back online.
  8. Start shooting

    On the camera

Every photo you take now appears in FrameFast and uploads to your event.

Because your camera is on your iPhone's hotspot, your iPhone keeps its internet connection — real-time upload works without any extra connectivity setup.

Security note

With Access Authen. off, the camera communicates without SSH encryption. On a Personal Hotspot, only devices you approve can connect, so this is generally safe. If you connect the camera to a shared or public network, consider re-enabling Access Authentication.

Troubleshooting

  • Make sure Allow Others to Join is turned on in Personal Hotspot settings.
  • Keep the Personal Hotspot settings screen open on your iPhone.
  • Move the camera closer to the iPhone (within 2 meters).

  • Go to Settings → FrameFast and ensure Local Network is enabled.
  • Verify Remote Shooting is On and you have initiated Pairing.
  • Check that the camera is connected to the hotspot (Wi-Fi icon visible on camera).

Auth error

  • Verify Access Authen. Settings is Off (Step 1).
  • Toggle Remote Shoot off and on, then reconnect Wi-Fi.

Connection drops

  • Move your iPhone closer to the camera.
