Connect your Nikon camera to FrameFast

These cameras use Connect to smart device with Wi-Fi connection to create a hotspot. The camera shows its Wi-Fi SSID and password on screen, and you connect from your iPhone.

A charged camera from the list above
File format set to JPEG or RAW + JPEG — FrameFast does not transfer RAW-only files

Show the camera’s Wi-Fi credentials
On the camera
1.1 Navigate to Connect to smart device. The menu location differs by model:
- Z6, Z7, Z5, Z50, Z6 II, Z7 II, Z30, Zfc: Setup Menu → Connect to smart device (make sure Connect to PC is off)
- Z8, Z9, Zf, Z6 III, Z5 II, Z50 II: Network Menu → Connect to smart device (make sure Connect to computer is off)
1.2 Select Wi-Fi connection (make sure Pairing (Bluetooth) is off).
1.3 Select Establish Wi-Fi connection.
1.4 The camera displays an SSID and Password on screen. Keep this screen open.

Join the camera Wi-Fi
On your iPhone
Settings → Wi-Fi → select the network matching the camera's SSID → enter the password from the camera screen.

Open FrameFast and select Nikon
On your iPhone
3.1 Open FrameFast → Capture tab → tap + → select Nikon.
3.2 The app confirms you’re on the camera Wi-Fi. Tap Next.

Pick an event and upload mode
On your iPhone
Select the event you’re shooting for, then choose an upload mode:
- Real-time upload — photos upload to the cloud as you shoot. Requires internet.
- Shoot offline — photos are saved locally and uploaded later when you’re back online.

Connectivity setup (real-time only)

If you chose Shoot offline, skip this step.
If you chose Real-time upload and the app detects no internet, it walks you through configuring the network so your iPhone can reach both the camera and the internet.
You only need to do this once per camera.

Camera found
On your iPhone
FrameFast scans the network and finds your camera. Tap it to connect.
Start shooting
On the camera
The camera shows Connected to smart device. Every photo you take now appears in FrameFast and uploads to your event.
